Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) - Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)

Compressed natural gas (CNG) is also known in some countries as CNG (compressed natural gas) originates under similar conditions to those of oil and is a subsidiary product of the oil industry. There are also specific natural gas fields
As it happens with oil and coal, natural gas belongs to the combustible organic natural resources. The main component of natural gas is the "methane" (CH4) a chemical combination of carbon and hydrogen. Natural gas can be used in heat engines, unaccounted be subjected to any further processing as is done with oil refining for diesel, gasoline and other products.

Note: Do not confuse natural gas with LPG - LPG (liquefied petroleum gas liquified petroleum -gas), also called autogas or liquefied gas, consisting mainly of propane and butane. LPG is obtained as a byproduct of the distillation in the production of gasoline, which is directly dependent on oil reserves.

Natural gas, as a fuel gas is the fossil energy more compatible with the environment. It consists essentially of 80-99% methane (CH4). The rest consists of additions of carbon dioxide, nitrogen and less significant hydrocarbons.
Natural gas can be used directly, without chemical modification, as fuel for internal combustion engines. This is a clear cost advantage compared to petroleum refining into gasoline and gasoil. However, according to the origin of natural gas, it may be a need to undergo a series of purification or dehydration.
For security reasons it proceeds to mix natural gas with an additive toilet so you can smell it in case of leakage.

Qualities of natural gas
Depending on the site providers can offer different quality of gas. With interconnecting pipelines this quality is balanced.
Differentiation of quality is established on the basis of the calorific value of natural gas. According to its calorific power difference between H-gas (high = high) and L-gas (low = low).
The different calorific values of H-Gas and L-Gas are translated in turn in different fuel consumption.
